Bread Pudding

5 slices of bread (2-3 days old)
½ cup seedless raisins
2 eggs
2 cups milk
½ stick butter
¼ cup sugar
¾ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Cut bread into 1/4” cubes and place in buttered 1-1/2 quart baking dish.  Sprinkle with raisins.  Beat eggs slightly in small saucepan; stir in milk, butter, sugar, nutmeg, salt and vanilla.  Heat slowly, stirring until butter melts and sugar dissolves.  Pour over bread cubes.  Bake at 350º for about 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
