M&M Cookies

1 cup shortening                                          
2-1/2 cup sifted flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar                
1 tsp soda
½ cup granulated sugar                                
1 tsp salt
2 eggs                                                           
1-1/2 cups plain M&Ms
2 tsp vanilla
 
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla thoroughly.  Sift together flour, soda and salt.  Add dry ingredients gradually to creamed mixture.  Mix well.  Stir in ¾ cup M&Ms.  Drip by teaspoons on ungreased baking sheet.  Decorate tops of cookies with remaining M&Ms.  Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.  Makes 6 dozen.
